Important May 15 Video Message from the Camp Lu-Jo Board of Directors
Video Presented By: Jason Hosch, President of the Camp Lu-Jo Kismif Board of Directors
Video Transcript:
Dear Lu-Jo Campers, Parents, Staff, and Supporters, The Lu-Jo Board of Directors met again May 14, and we struggled mightily with the decisions to have camp this summer. These are strange times and our Board does not want to contribute additional stress or anxiety to an already stressful climate for anyone, especially our campers. The Board of Directors is unified on the principle that the safety of everyone that goes to Lu-Jo is our top priority for everyone. Please our hearts want us to be together at Lu-Jo, but we feel it is too early, and there are still too many unknowns to make a prudent and wise decision at this time. After prayerful consideration, the Lu-Jo Board of Directors has voted to cancel our traditional, scheduled sessions in June and July. However, we will meet again on June 18 to re-evaluate the Covid-19 situation. We will review the CDC and State health guidelines at that time to see if there is an opportunity for a modified version of the Lu-Jo Experience this Summer or Fall that can be provided in a safe manner. We have diligently followed our decision-making process and we have sought wise counsel on the best, right, and wise thing to do. We will also be praying that the Lord clearly provides us an answer by June 18. Here is where you come in…we covet your prayers as we re-imagine Camp Lu-Jo 2020, we pray for safety, safely overcoming and conquering Covid-19, and what that looks like. We sincerely thank you for your patience as we continue to seek and do God's will now and for Lu-Jo. Please remember Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, submit to Him and He will make your paths straight." May God's peace and understanding be with us all, Your humble Lu-Jo Board of Directors
